Tsipras: “We turned requirements into reforms”

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras spoke before his party’s parliamentary group and proceeded with a complete retelling of everything the government has done from the day it was elected, until the deal with the Eurogroup.

 

According to government sources, the PM spoke of the difficult negotiations and underlined “the government’s achievements so far”, as such:

During a press conference immediately following Friday’s Eurogroup meeting, Greek FinMin Yanis Varoufakis made the following statements:

Dep. PM: If Europeans refuse aid, they should be prepared to bear responsibility

Deputy Prime Minister Yiannis Dragasakis and Bank of Greece (BoG) Gov. Yannis Stournaras on Thursday reacted to Germany’s rejection of a Greek request for a loan agreement extension.

The Deputy PM said that “in case Europeans refuse to aid us, they should be prepared to bear the brunt of their decision”.

Cabinet meeting on Eurogroup developments ends - expectedly - in agreement

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras expressed his optimism on Friday over the outcome of negotiations between the Greek government and the country's international creditors, speaking to his Cabinet on Friday.

During the five-hour meeting, which ended well after midnight, the ministers were briefed on the developments that occurred at the Eurogroup meeting and the EU Summit a day earlier.
