Turkey condemns 'heinous' terrorist attack in Yemen

Turkey on Oct. 10 denounced a "heinous" terrorist attack in southern Yemen that left six killed.

In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its sadness at the deaths and injuries caused by the attack carried out with a bomb-laden vehicle in the convoy of Aden Governor Ahmed Hamed Lamlas in the province earlier on Sunday.

Turkey to extend military deployment in Gulf of Aden

Turkey's presidency on Jan. 25 submitted a motion extending Turkish forces' deployment in the Gulf of Aden, Somalia and the Arabian Sea.

Lawmaker will debate the motion on Tuesday extending the authorization of the deployments through Feb. 10, 2022.

Since it was first approved by parliament in 2008, the motion for the deployment has been extended 13 times.

Yemeni official: Blast at Aden airport kills 16, wounds 60

A large explosion struck the airport in the southern Yemeni city of Aden on Dec. 30, shortly after a plane carrying the newly formed Cabinet landed there, security officials said. At least 16 people were killed and 60 were wounded in the blast.

The source of the blast was not immediately clear and no group claimed responsibility for attacking the airport.
