For the first time in 20 years, the majority of Bulgarians are optimistic. This is the data from a survey by Alpha Research Agency done together with NOVA.

55 percent of the people who got questioned, they expect the next year to be better. The opinion is that 36% of respondents will be the same, and worse - 9%.

A unified security system created for the forthcoming Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the EU will be presented today by Mayor Yordanka Fandakova and Interior Minister Valentin Radev.

A few months ago Sofia Municipality announced that it needed BGN 2.5 million to be actively involved in a unified security system during the presidency.

Bulgaria's President Roumen Radev enjoys the approval of the majority of the Bulgarians - 64.9%, followed by Ombudsman Maya Manolova - 60.4% and Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova - 50.7%, results of a poll revelaed on 14th of December.

Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova banned the parking of buses in front of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The initiative was made by  the municipal councilor and co-chair of "Political Group 5" Eng. Simeon Slavchev.

BGN 1,433 billion is the size of the municipality's budget for 2018. This was announced at a press conference by Mayor of Sofia Municipality, Yordanka Fandakova, who presented the draft budget of the municipality for 2018, BNT reported.

The Christmas tree of Sofia officially was presented on Tuesday night next to the National Palace of Culture.

Traditionally the lights of the festive tree were lit the mayor of the city Yordanka Fandakova. 30 thousand lights illuminated the 10-meter tree, which for a second consecutive year in the park in front of the National Palace of Culture.

The international rating agency Standard & Poor's (S & P Global Ratings) increased Sofia's long-term credit rating from BB + to BBB- with a stable outlook. So the capital is already in the "investment ratings" group, announced Sofia Municipality.

The situation on the territory of Sofia Municipality is complicated in many places and in many of the regions. This was said by Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, who checked the situation at the Stubela dyke in the Smardana area, reports BNT. 

"The main boulevards in the capital are clean. Public transport moves on its usual routes. The stops, as well as subway approaches, are clean. This is the first task of cleaning companies in the morning. They will continue their work on the main streets as well as on the sidewalks adjacent to the municipal land, "said Mayor Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, quoted by Nova TV.

The renovated part of Sofia's Dondukov boulevard is being renovated again.

The repair works are at the same place, where they were 20 days ago, on November 4 - on the stretch between ''Bacho Kiro'' Street and ''Budapest'' Street, reported bTV.
