The mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova has COVID-19. She announced this on her Facebook account. Fandakova clarified that first her husband gave her a positive test, after which she underwent a PCR test, which confirmed that she had coronavirus.

Thus, the mayor of Sofia will be under quarantine in the next two weeks.

Kindergartens and schools in Sofia will not be closed - this is the proposal of the Sofia Operational Headquarters, which we will send to the Minister of Health and the regional headquarters, which has the authority to introduce measures in the municipality.

1. All school students from 5th through 12th grade in Sofia to switch over to online learning for a period of 2 weeks (from 15 to 26 March, inclusive).

The Sofia City Council adopted the metropolitan's budget for this year with 33 votes in favor, 26 against and 1 abstained. The debate lasted four hours. BSP and Democratic Bulgaria did not support the budget.

More than 100 residential areas in the northwestern regions of Bulgaria were left without power last night owing to the damage caused by the heavy rains. Energy company crews are making repairs and work will continue until power supply is restored.

The situation is most severe in western Bulgaria.
