Sofia Mayor: '40% of Tourists Visit Sofia For its Cultural and Historical Heritage'

40% of the tourists visiting Sofia come here because of its cultural and historical heritage, according to the words of Mayor Yordanka Fandakova during the Bulgaria's Historical Neighborhoods - Preservation and Development Forum, quoted by BNR.

Sofia Mayor Fandakova: Over BGN 1M is Earmarked For Repair Works and New Equipment of Municipal Hospitals in 2017

Over BGN 1M was earmarked for repair works and new equipment of hospitals for 2017, Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova said, as cited by Focus News Agency.

"The investments we have made in the past few years in Saint Sofia Hospital amount to about BGN 1M. The investments in Sheynovo hospital also total BGN 1M," Ms Fandakova noted.

A total of five parties will enter the 44th Parliament, while Rumen Radev is the best liked politician, showed data from the nationally representative survey of the Centre for Analyses and Marketing, presented by director Yuliy Pavlov, reported BGNES.

The sample included 1012 adult citizens and was carried out in the period March 10 - 16.

The so-called Lukov March was held in Bulgaria's capital Sofia on Saturday even though Mayor Yordanka Fandakova ordered an end to the torch-lit rally.

Lukov March, known in Bulgaria as Lukovmarsh, is a controversial commemoration of the life and death of Gen Hristo Lukov.

Held since 2003, it honours a supporter of Bulgaria's alliance with Nazi Germany in World War Two.
