National Audit Office to Inspect Management of Sofia Public Transport Co.

Bulgaria's National Audit Office will inspect the management of the Sofia Urban Mobility Centre, the municipal company operating public transport in the Bulgarian capital.

This was decided by the parliamentary budget and finance committee on Thursday, daily Dnevnik informs.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov slightly lifted the veil on his party's candidate for the forthcoming presidential elections which are scheduled to take place in the autumn.

Irina Kotseva, MP from the ruling GERB party, is also to submit her resignation, the chairperson of the party's parliamentary group Tsvetan Tsvetanov is quoted as saying by daily Sega.

Bulgarians Greet Park as Sign of Sofia's Renaissance

The first entirely new park in 30 years opened in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, on Sunday.

The new green spot, named "Vazrazhdane" ["Renaissance"], by the area in which it is located, covers 52 acres in the central part of the city.

It was welcomed by citizens of Sofia, who have long called for the previously abandoned space to be turned into a city garden.
