Sofia Secures Funding for Twelve New Metro Stations on Planned Third Line
The Bulgarian capital has secured funding for the construction of twelve new stations on the projected third line of the underground.
This was announced by the director of the municipal company Metropolitan Stoyan Bratoev, who together with the mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova inspected the construction of the Vitosha station in the Hladilnika neighbourhood on Thursday.

Sofia's Orlandovtsi Will Now be Video Monitored Following Ethnic Tensions
The first stage of the installment of the video-monitoring system in Sofia's neighborhood of Orlandovtsi started Wednesday.
The announcement was made by Sofia's Mayor Yordanka Fandakova in an interview for Focus radio station.
Subway Extension to Business Park Sofia Opens
Subway to the Sofia Business Park in Mladost 4 has been launched today.
The new segment of the underground network is 3-kilometer long with three new stops - Aleksandar Malinov, Akad. Aleksandar Teodorov- Balan and Business Park.
The total cost of the project amounts to EUR 44 M or a little less than EUR 15 M per kilometer.

Sofia Business Park to Become Accessible by Underground on May 8
The extension of the first line of the Sofia underground to the Business Park will be launched on May 8.
This was announced by Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, who inspected the construction works of the underground on Tuesday, daily Dnevnik reports.

It is now taking only 18 minutes with the new subway section in Bulgaria's capital Sofia to move between the city center and the airport.
The new leg leading to Sofia Airport was officially launched Thursday, with the first train departing at 13:00 EEST (11:00 GMT).
The distance has been measured by subway officials from the Serdika station in the center.
Sofia Airport to Become Accessible by Underground from April 2
Yordanka Fandakova, the mayor of Bulgaria's capital, announced on Saturday that Sofia Airport will be accessible by underground from April 2.
Thus the underground will cover the distance between the airport and the central bus and railway stations in 15-20 minutes, the mayor said in an interview for private bTV station.
