In order to counter Russian influence in Bulgaria, a group of fifteen MPs, including prominent figures such as Nadezhda Yordanova and Ivaylo Mirchev, has submitted a draft law to the National Assembly. This proposed legislation seeks to enable the implementation of international restrictive measures within Bulgarian borders, addressing a critical gap in the country's legal framework.

Toshko Yordanov, chairman of the parliamentary group "There is Such a People" (TISP), delivered a critique of the current state of affairs directly to President Rumen Radev, advocating for early elections.

Russia has issued a stern warning in response to Bulgaria's recent legislative efforts aimed at seizing Russian real estate. Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nail Mukhitov, declared in an interview with TASS that Russia will not tolerate such actions and vows to respond.

A proposed bill by Bulgarian MPs Ivaylo Mirchev and Nadezhda Yordanova, representing the political party "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), seeks to freeze Russian properties owned by sanctioned individuals.

As the Parliament engaged in heated discussions over proposed constitutional changes, two prominent opposition parties, There Is Such a People (TISP) and Vazrazhdane, issued threats to challenge the amendments' constitutionality. Authorities have described the blast, which happened as Geshev's vehicle was slowing down on a highway near the town of Samokov on Monday, as intended to kill the top prosecutor.

Geshev was travelling with his wife and children but no one in the car was injured.

For "Democratic Bulgaria" the people who will be included in the government are important - said the co-chairman of the political coalition Hristo Ivanov.

"The people who will enter a government cannot be just mailboxes or performers," he told on tv in a commentary on the statement of the deputy chairman of "There is such a people" Toshko Yordanov.
