Bulgarian Socialist Party's Request to Use Buzludzha Monument Rejected

The government today rejected the request from Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) to use free of charge the Buzludzha monument for 10 years, the government's press office said, quoted by bTV.

The proposal was made by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works at today's meeting of the Council of Ministers.

Payment of Over EUR 27.5M For Organic Plant Growing Starts

''The payment of over EUR 27.5M for organic plant growing has begun'', CEO of the Agriculture Fund Zhivko Zhivkov said in the town of Veliko Tarnovo, adding that more than 7,000 farmers will receive money, according to BNR.

No delays have been registered and the indicative schedule has being complied with, Zhivkov assured.

Bulgarians mark on November 10 the 27th anniversary of events that led to the demise of the communist regime.

The anniversary comes in the run-up to a presidential election that has been reinforcing the "communism"-"anti-communism" divide in a society where an increasing number of young voters do not remember the dramatic first years of democracy, let alone Communism itself.
