Theatre and film actor Radko Polič – Rac dies
Ljubljana – Radko Polič – Rac, one of the finest Slovenian actors, has died aged 80, the Slovenian Association of Dramatic Artists (ZDUS) said on Thursday. Polič played in more than 100 theatre productions and as many films and radio plays to create some of the most memorable roles in Slovenian history.

Award for lifetime achievement in film goes to Milena Zupančič
Ljubljana – Actress Milena Zupančič, one of the biggest stars of Slovenian and before that Yugoslav cinema and theatre, is the recipient of this year’s Badjura Award for lifetime achievements in film.
New chairman of Elektro Ljubljana appointed
Ljubljana – Aleksander Zupančič, the chief-of-staff to Environment Minister Andrej Vizjak, has been appointed chairman of power grid operator Elektro Ljubljana. He will start his four-year term on 6 January, the company said. Zupančič is already a supervisor at the partially state-owned energy group Petrol.

Dnevnik says govt’s interference in companies hits another level
Ljubljana – Dnevnik says in Tuesday’s commentary that the political interference in state-owned companies has hit another level yesterday as a protege of Environment Minister Andrej Vizjak was appointed to the supervisory board of Petrol.
Hockey: Slovenia relegated at World Championship
Žiga Jeglič and David Rodman scored the only goals for Slovenia in the first third.
Nik Zupančič, Slovenia's head coach, said after the game that the first third was okay, but that everything came crumbling down in the second: "Four goals are too much at this level of competition."
