Spanovic, Kolasinac role models for young people

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday received European long jump champion Ivana Spanovic and Asmir Kolasinac, shot put silver medallist at the European Athletics Indoor Championships.

"I want to congratulate you and thank you for the gold and silver medals - it is a major thing for our country. You have demonstrated that effort and huge work always pay off eventually, and that should be a lesson for generations that come after you," Vucic said.

Spanovic and Kolasinac thanked for the support and pledged to achieve even better results.

"I promise that we will return from the next championships with more medals," Spanovic noted.

Spanovic won the long jump gold medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Prague last weekend, setting a new national record of 6.98 m, while Kolasinac won the shot put silver medal with a 20.90 shot.
