Violent, stylised and without lines, 'Ramona' closes Cretulescu's trilogy that started in 2013 with 'Bad Penny' and continued in 2014 with 'Kowalski.' The cast is the same, including Rodica Lazar, Dorian Boguta, Andi Vasluianu, Serban Pavlu, plus Ana Ularu.

With a background in film critique, Cretulescu is the producer of the first season of 'In deriva' (Aimlessly), produced for HBO Romania, and nine original documentaries. In 2011, he set up Kinosseur, a production company. After producing feature film 'Killing Time' (directed by Florin Piersic Jr.), Cretulescu wrote and directed 'Bad Penny' and 'Kowalski,' with the latter having won the prize for the best short film in the Zagreb International Film Festival 2014 and the best director as well as best actor (Andi Vasluianu) awards at the Lille European Film Festival 2015.

'Ramona' is a hundred per cent independent short film produced by Andrei Cretulescu (Kinosseur), Radu Stancu (deFilm) and Claudiu Mitcu (We Are Basca). Dan Chisu (DaKino) and Eugen Kelemen (Digital Cube) are co-producers.

La Semaine de la Critique, the International Critics' Week, is a parallel competitive section of the Cannes International Film Festival created in 1962 to showcase debuting film directors. AGERPRES
