Ministers mull over incentives for movie magic in Greece

The Greek government is considering action to attract foreign movie productions. “Greece has all the advantages that can render it a unique center of international productions,” said Alekos Flambouraris, State Minister for Co-ordinating Government Operations.

After a two-hour meeting on Wednesday, ministers noted the need to create a body to handle movie licensing. Present at the meeting on Wednesday were Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism Minister George Stathakis, Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura, Alternate Minister for Culture Nikos Xydakis and Deputy State Minister Terence Quick. Officials are to meet again on June 5 to further discuss incentives for film producers.
