Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov Reaches Quarterfinals in Acapulco

The highest ranking Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov reached the quarterfinals of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel tournament in Acapulco.

In a match from the second round, Dimitrov defeated Donald Young from the USA with 6:3, 6:4 in slightly less than an hour and a half.

Thus the Bulgarian recorded his fourth consecutive victory over Young.

Dimitrov claimed the opening set after achieving a decisive break at the end.

The second set started well, with the Bulgarian winning another break and coming in the lead with 2:0.

However Young recovered quickly, returned the break and equalized for 2:2.

Dimitrov managed to record another break and came in the lead with 3:2. The Bulgarian maintained the advantage and claimed the final victory.

In the quarterfinals, the Bulgarian will face for the first time in his career the Austrian Dominic Thiem who defeated Dmitry Tursunov from Russia with 6:7 (5), 6:3, 6:4.
