ATHEX: Stocks post 3rd week of gains

The majority of Greek stocks headed south at the end of the bourse benchmark's third consecutive week of gains, although blue chips and mid-caps edged up on increased turnover. Monday's Euro Working Group is likely to give the market a good taste of what is to come next week.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 623.35 points, shedding just 0.04 percent from Thursday's 623.63 points. On a weekly basis it climbed 1.87 percent.

The large-cap FTSE 25 index eked out small gains of 0.06 percent to 1,683.02 points, while mid-caps expanded 1.17 percent.

The banks index gave up 0.63 percent, with Eurobank falling 3.57 percent, National sliding 1.39 percent and Piraeus shrinking 0.51 percent, while Alpha advanced 1.12 percent.

METKA outperformed with a rise of 1.67 percent, followed by Coca-Cola HBC (up 1.15 percent) and Aegean Air (1.14 percent)....
