Cy Twombly | Athens | May 25 - September 3

Curated by Professor Nikolaos Stampolidis, director of the Museum of Cycladic Art, and Jonas Storsve of the Pompidou Center in Paris, the exhibition "Divine Dialogues: Cy Twombly and Greek Antiquity" opens on Thursday, May 25, and runs through September 3. The exhibition is the first in which works by the late American artist inspired by Greek mythology will be shown alongside ancient artworks, resulting a unique and original dialogue between the two. The exhibition includes 27 works representative drawings and sculptures by Twombly, including "Venus" (1975), "Pan" (1975), "Nike" (1981), "Apollo" (1975), "Dionysus" (1975), "Orpheus" (1979), "Aristaeus Mourning the Loss of his Bees" (1973) and "Aphrodite Anadyomene" (1979).
