Russian air strikes kill at least 30 in stepped up raids in northwest Syria

Air strikes believed to have been carried out by Russian jets killed at least 30 people in the town of Ariha in northwestern Syria on Nov. 29, rescue workers in the rebel-held area said, part of an escalation of Russian strikes near the Turkish border.

Kosovo MP Kurti Sent to High-Security Jail

A Pristina court on Sunday ordered Kurti to be held for 30 days in a high-security prison after riot police detained him when they stormed the Vetevendosje party's headquarters the previous day, clashing with its supporters.

The raid followed an opposition rally on Saturday against the Kosovo government's recent EU-brokered agreements with Serbia and Montenegro.

Bulgaria Chief Prosecutor Submits New Request to Lift Nationalist Leader's Immunity

Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov has submitted to Parliament two new requests to lift the immunity of nationalist leader Volen Siderov, Tsatsarov's press office has said.

In a statement on its website, the prosecuting authority of Bulgaria says Siderov allegedly violated public order in two separate incidents.

Lawyers of Cumhuriyet journalists object to arrest decision

The lawyers of daily Cumhuriyet Editor-in-Chief Can Dündar and Ankara Bureau Chief Erdem Gül have objected to the recent court decision to arrest them pending trial over a report about Turkish intelligence trucks bound for Syria. 

The lawyers of Dündar and Gül arrived at Istanbul's Ça?layan courthouse early on Nov. 30 to file the objection.

One person wounded in Kosovska Mitrovica explosion

A Kosovo Albanian was wounded and eight cars were damaged in an explosion that took place in north Kosovska Mitrovica on Sunday.

After the incident that happened around 13:00 CET, Zeljko Bojic, Kosovo police regional chief of operating, told Tanjug that the explosive device used is most probably a bomb, and that a Kosovo Albanian was injured on the occasion.
