On a cold winter evening in a car park in the Cypriot capital Nicosia, queues are already forming before former airline pilot Pantelis Panteli arrives in a small van to sell his produce.
After being made redundant following the closure of Cyprus Airways in 2013, Panteli decided to try his hand at cheese-making. He hasn't looked back.
Cyprus Air renders its fleet greener
In a move aimed at enhancing operational capacity and embracing sustainability, Cyprus Airways acquired two state-of-the-art Airbus 220s in July. These aircraft are set to debut on the 2024 summer routes, connecting popular Greek island destinations like Rhodes, Skiathos, Santorini and Iraklio on Crete, and Preveza on the mainland.

Cyprus Airways enjoys rapid expansion
Cyprus Airways carried a total of 260,000 passengers in the first half of 2023, marking a steep increase of 300% year-on-year, while it doubled its operations compared with June of last year.
According to a press release, in June the Cypriot flag carrier carried 59,110 passengers, compared with 29,979 last year.

Connectivity is important for Cyprus
Cyprus' connectivity with other countries is very important for matters of tourism and the economy in general, the president of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, said last Friday.
He was attending the presentation of two new Airbus A220s for the Cyprus Airways fleet at the old Larnaca Airport.

Cyprus Air upgrading its fleet

Cyprus Airways: Spreads wings from Thessaloniki to Larnaca
Cyprus Airways, the Cypriot national carrier, announced its summer program to 11 destinations to support the tourism recovery effort.
The company will operate flights from Cyprus to Greece at 4 airports in the country: Thessaloniki every Tuesday and Saturday, Heraklion every Thursday and Sunday, Preveza every Wednesday, and Skiathos every Monday and Thursday.
Cyprus Airways and Bulgaria Air Launch Codeshare Partnership
Cyprus Airways and Bulgaria Air have entered into a codeshare partnership. Cyprus Airways' customers will be able to fly from Larnaca to Sofia through a codeshare agreement with Bulgaria Air. The agreement will allow Cyprus Airways to sell tickets under its own flight code between Larnaca and Sofia. Other routes will be added in future.
Cyprus Airways name and logo up for sale
The Cypriot government decided on Wednesday to try to sell off the name and logo of national carrier Cyprus Airways, shut down last week after breaking EU state aid rules.
