Syria calls on US, French, Turkish forces to withdraw immediately
Syria's foreign minister on Sept. 29 denounced U.S., French and Turkish forces operating in his country as "occupying forces" and demanded that they leave immediately.
Algeria obtains Ottoman-era documents at auction
Algerian authorities on April 3 announced their acquisition of 600 historical maps and manuscripts dating back to the country's Ottoman period.
According to a statement issued by the Algerian Culture Ministry, the documents were purchased last week at a public auction in France.

France accuses Syrian regime of violating ceasefire
France on April 1 accused the Syrian regime of violating a fragile ceasefire in the five-year war that has devastated the country.
The French foreign ministry also accused Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime of trying to undermine efforts by the international community to resolve the conflict.
