Irish President Begins Historic UK State Visit
Irish President Michael D Higgins has arrived to the UK on the first official state visit by an Irish head of state, Tuesday.
The four-day trip, which comes three years after the Queen visited Ireland, includes an address to Parliament and a focus on the contribution Irish emigrants have made to UK life, The Guardian reports.

Shelter opens in Patra for vulnerable migrants
Greek nongovernmental organization Praksis and the Hellenic Red Cross have inaugurated a new shelter in Patra aimed at providing relief to dozens of migrants sleeping on the streets of the western port city.
The project is funded in part by the governments of Norway, Ireland and Liechtenstein through the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Serbia ranks 28th on FIFA list
ZURICH - Serbia's soccer team improved its ranking by one position on the list of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and now occupies the 28th place on the list with the score at 762 points.
The team coached by Ljubinko Drulovic made progress on the list thanks to the victory against Ireland in the friendly match in Dublin last week, 2-1.

EU Empty Properties Exceed 11M
Some 11 million homes lie empty across Europe, according to figures collated by the Guardian from across the EU.
In Spain more than 3.4 million homes are vacant, the numbers are 2 million for both France and Italy, 1.8 million in Germany and more than 700,000 in the UK.
