‘Greece remains a pillar of stability,’ PM says in Brussels

"Greece remains a pillar of stability in an incredibly destabilized region," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday as he headed into a meeting of the European People's Party in Brussels.

"We are here to reiterate our commitment to regional stability," the center-right leader, who is also in the Belgian capital for a two-day European Union summit, said.

House majority passes EU directive on data protection

Greek Parliament passed a bill on Monday that will incorporate a European Union data protection regulation into Greek law, with an overwhelming majority.
The legislation was approved by New Democracy, main opposition SYRIZA, the center-left Movement for Change and leftist MeRA25. Communist party KKE and nationalist Greek Solution voted against.  

Parliament votes on debt settlement scheme for healthcare providers

A bill recently voted by the Greek Parliament gives pharmaceutical firms and other healthcare providers that owe money to state healthcare provider EOPYY the facility to settle their debts in 120 monthly installments, just like other debtors to public bodies, such as social security funds.
