Zerzevan Castle home to secret history
Following the discovery of an underground temple, a closed secret passage and a subterranean sanctuary in the Zerzevan Castle in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır's Çınar district, four other ancient locations from the Roman era were unearthed this year in Çınar.

No new libraries have opened in 44 provinces of Turkey over the last 10 years, according to the data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Independent Deputy Aylin Nazlıaka asked a question regarding the "library numbers in Turkey" to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a part of the right to information act.

Theater festival in Adana to kick off season
Organized with the cooperation of the Sabancı Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and State Theaters, the 19th State Theaters Sabancı International Adana Theater Festival will kick off in the southern Turkish province of Adana on March 27, World Theater Day. The event will feature national and international theater shows through April 30.

Three tombs of Greek gods discovered in Bursa, Turkey (photo)
Three ancient burial chambers from the Late Antiquity period have been discovered in an olive grove in Turkey’s western Bursa province. The chambers have been put under protection until archaeological teams arrive at the scene, reports said on Sunday.
Amendment enables construction in protected sites
A new amendment to a 1999 principle decision to preserve Turkey's archeological sites has enabled the construction of buildings in protected sites in case of a significant disruption of public order and safety or natural disaster.

Urartu Castle's walls unearthed after 2,700 years
After 2700 years the walls of Urartu Castle have been unearthed in the Ayanis neighborhood of the eastern province of Van.
Excavations at the Urartu Castle site, situated 38 kilometers from Van, have been ongoing for 25 years, leading to new discoveries every day. After the discovery of the temple, this year the walls, a defining part of the castle, have been unearthed.
