A yellow code for significant rainfall has been announced in 8 regions of Bulgaria. This was announced by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology announced an orange code for snowfall for tomorrow, January 26, for the regions of Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv and Smolyan. A yellow code has been issued for seven other districts in Western Bulgaria. For Kardjali, the code for snow and rain is also yellow, and for Haskovo, a yellow code for rain has been announced.

The absolute records for high temperatures for January were improved yesterday in five stations of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology in the country, reports the NIMH.

In Pleven yesterday the temperature reached 21.7 degrees Celsius, and the old temperature record was 21.2 degrees and was from January 2002.

A code red warning is in effect this morning due to strong winds in the Vratsa and Montana regions. According to data from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, wind gusts reach 30-35 meters per second.

A yellow and orange high wind warning code has been issued by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology for most of Bulgaria (see map below).

Atmospheric pressure is slightly higher than the average for the month and during the day will remain almost unchanged. Today will be sunny, in the afternoon over the western regions with scattered high clouds, which by the evening will cover the whole country. A weak, moderate south-southwest wind will blow in Eastern Bulgaria.

Today the maximum temperatures will decrease slightly and will be between 9° and 14° Degrees, in Sofia - around 9°C. This was announced for FOCUS News Agency by the weather forecaster on duty Hristo Hristov from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.
