The world-renowned "Carmina Burana" was staged on May 18 without any scene cuts or censorship, following a planned staging in ?zmir on May 2 which was postponed due to "technical reasons," after prominent Turkish pianist and composer Faz?l Say's wrote an article on the piece containing sections about "sex and wine."

The Mardin Opera and Ballet Days event, organized by the State Opera and Ballet General Directorate, has opened in the eastern province of Mardin. The Samsun State Opera and Ballet gave a "Symphonic Songs" concert in the opening ceremony.

The State Opera and Ballet (DOB) has brought the opera "I Puritani" (Love and Pride), which made its premiere in 1846 during the Ottoman era, to the stage once again.
