Vucic to meet Putin, Medvedev on July 7-8

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin have noted that Vucic's upcoming talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, due to take place on July 7-8, will contribute to strengthening friendly relations between the two peoples and countries even further.

Chepurin: Russia expects Serbia to support South Stream

BELGRADE - Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will discuss with Serbian officials the political relations and economic cooperation between the two countries, especially such important matters like the South Stream natural gas pipeline, Ukraine and Kosovo, Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin has said.

Nikolic invites Russia, India to donor conference

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic held separate meetings in Belgrade on Monday with the Ambassadors of Russia and India Alexander Chepurin and Narinder Chauhan, respectively, and invited them to join the international donor conference to help Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina rebuild after the recent catastrophic floods.

Russian rescuers return to Russia

BELGRADE - The Russian rescuers who provided assistance in the rescue efforts during the floods in Serbia departed from the Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla on Monday.

Russia's Deputy Minister of Emergencies Eduard Chizhikov said that the rescue operation in Serbia had been completed, and he thanked his countrymen on their brave efforts.

Dikovic, Chepurin: Cooperation on the ground is excellent

SABAC – Russian Federation Ambasador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin and Serbian Armed Forces (VS) Chief of the General Staff, Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic, visited the western Serbian city of Sabac and a special team sent by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations to help flood defense efforts in the country.

Vucic: Obrenovac must be evacuated completely

OBRENOVAC - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Friday visited the Belgrade municipality of Obrenovac, the hardest hit by the floods in Serbia.

"The situation is catastrophic and the entire town will have to be evacuated," Vucic said after inspecting the situation from a boat. Obrenovac was flooded at dawn after embankments caved in.
