Greek filmmaker Christos Nikou's English-language debut imagines a world where dating apps are out and couples search for true love through fingernail samples and science.

"Fingernails" stars Jessie Buckley and Jeremy Allen White as Anna and Ryan, who have established their compatibility in the lab, and then reflect on their relationship three years later.

Ljubljana – Film Under the Stars, an annual series of open-air screenings in the courtyard of Ljubljana Castle co-organised by the city cinema Kinodvor, will open on Thursday evening with Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Notorious. Previews and some of last year’s most acclaimed films will be screened daily until 7 August.

The Istanbul Film Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), will continue with their new February selection from Feb. 5 onwards.

Ljubljana – The 31st Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe) has attracted numerous film buffs although it was held online this year due to anti-corona restrictions, the organisers said. A quarter of tickets were sold compared to previous years, but the 2020 programme was also heavily reduced, the festival’s director Simon Popek told the STA.
