Suspect won't post bail unless convict's girlfriend is freed

The mother of two convicted members of guerrilla group Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire, Christos and Gerasimos Tsakalos, refused on Wednesday to post the 10,000-euro bail payment that would secure her conditional release, saying she would only pay if the girlfriend of one of her two sons is also released from pretrial custody.

Ties between terror groups probed

Counterterrorism officers were seeking to broaden their investigation into suspected links between Greek domestic terrorist organizations following the arrest Monday of Angeliki Spyropoulou, an alleged accomplice of November 17 terrorist Christodoulos Xeros, and two people with suspected links to convicted members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire guerrilla group.
