BNR's Board decides to keep unchanged monetary policy rate at 2.50pct per annum
The Board of Directors of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) on Wednesday's meeting decided to keep unchanged the monetary policy rate at 2.50 percent per annum, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.
Total number of pensioners down 18,000 in Q2, to 5.207 mln
The average number of pensioners dropped by 18,000 in Q2 20108, compared to the same period of last year, to 5,207 million people and the number of those in the state social insurance category increased by 7,000 to 4.680 million, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
Annual inflation rate goes up to 5.1 pct in August
The annual inflation rate increased in August to 5.1 pct, from 4.56 pct in July, when the prices of non-food goods rose by 6.78 pct compared to the same month last year, the food products by 4.15 pct and services by 2.61 pct, according to data released on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

June's unemployment rate - 3.48pct, lowest in past 26 years
The unemployment rate was 3.48pct at the end of June, at the same level as in the previous month, for the second consecutive month being the lowest value of the unemployment rate in the last 26 years, according to the data released on Monday by the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM).
Compared to June of the previous year, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.69 percentage points.
