The Ecumenical Patriarchate's decision to cede Autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, effectively granting it self-rule and independence from the Moscow Patriarchate, has rocked the entire Eastern Orthodox Church threatening it with schism. Moscow has already broken communion with the Ecumenical Patriarchate (its bishops, priests, and finally lay people).

The reason, according to Putin, is that the authorities in Kiev "have no desire to implement the Minsk agreements."

At one point he compared the region of Donbass with Srebrenica.

"As for the tragedy that is playing out there, one should always look at the primary source, and that was the coup (in Ukraine)," Putin said, according to Sputnik's Serbian language website.

EU Promises Ukraine Visa-Free Regime

The European Union has promised Ukraine a visa-free regime by December and a ratification of the Agreement for association and free-trade.

At the summit in Brussels, President Poroshenko assured that he is continuing the reforms for combating corruption and guaranteed the secure transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory to Europe.

Bomb Explodes at Rally in Ukraine's Kharkiv, Kills 2

Ukrainian authorities have detained a number of suspects in connection with a bomb attack in Kharkiv that left at least two people dead and 10 injured.

The explosion occurred at 13:20 local time as people were gathering near the city's Palace of Sport for a rally marking one year since the start of the Maidan protests in Kiev, according to reports of the BBC News.
