Donald Trump has stirred controversy once again by promising to pardon individuals convicted for their roles in the storming of the US Capitol in 2021 if he is re-elected as president.
Ex-Trump trade advisor Navarro guilty of contempt of Congress
Peter Navarro, a White House trade advisor to former president Donald Trump, was found guilty Thursday of contempt of Congress for refusing to testify before the panel that investigated the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol.
A federal jury in Washington found the 72-year-old Navarro guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress after a two-day trial.
Donald Trump pleads Not Guilty
Former US President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to four federal charges stemming from his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, CNN reported.
The next hearing in the Trump election interference case is set for August 28.
Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya scheduled the next hearing in the election subversion case for August 28 at 10 a.m. ET.
