Archbishop Elpidophoros of America has expressed his grief over the death of Greek-American author Harry Mark Petrakis who passed away Tuesday.

One of the most famous actors in former Yugoslavia, Mira Furlan, has passed away at the age of 65, her friend the American writer and producer Joseph Michael Straczynski announced on Friday.

Mira Furlan was born in 1955 in Zagreb.
The actress reportedly has been suffering from the West Nile virus for a long time.
A cause of death has yet not been revealed.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis sang the praises on Tuesday of former US President Barack Obama for living up to expectations with his book "A Promised Land." 

In his message during the presentation of the Greek edition of the book, Mitsotakis said that Obama won a difficult bet and described his writing as balanced and thoroughly worked, and that he had already read two-thirds.

U.S. President Donald Trump appointed on Dec. 11 Dr. Mehmet Öz to the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition alongside nearly 30 other individuals for two-year terms.
