With this win he became the owner of all nine tournament titles in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000
Novak is the first player in history to complete career "Golden Masters", a success no player managed to achieve since the current system was established by ATP in 1990.
In the Cincinnati grand final Djokovic beat Federer in two sets 6-4, 6-4.

Former world number ones Andy Murray and Victoria Azarenka have been handed wild cards to compete at the Cincinnati Open next month, the tournament's organisers have said.
Djokovic comes back with fourth Wimbledon title
This was the 13th grand slam title for Djokovic, who was playing in his first grand slam final since the US Open in 2016.
The title brought Djokovic back to the top ten of the ATP list.

Stan Wawrinka fought back to stun sixth seed Grigor Dimitrov in the Wimbledon first round and claim his biggest victory since having knee surgery.
The Swiss, a three-time Grand Slam champion, has dropped to 224th in the world and lost to Andy Murray in the first round at Eastbourne last week.
But he rallied to beat Dimitrov 1-6 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 on Centre Court.

INDIAN WELLS - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is out of the Indian Wells Masters tournament after losing 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-1 to world number 109 Taro Daniel of Japan in the second round on Sunday.
Daniel won after two hours and 28 minutes of play.

Djokovic seeded in Indian Wells first round
INDIAN WELLS - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will be seeded in the opening round of the Indian Wells Masters.
The five-time Indian Wells champion, who is in the US to train and recover from an elbow injury, will face a qualifier in the second round and could play Japanese Kei Nishikori in the third round.
