Mati wildfire: Court to issue verdicts six year after tragedy on Monday
Six years after the devastating wildfire in Attica's seaside town of Mati and nearby areas, which claimed 104 lives and left dozens injured, a three-member misdemeanors court will issue its verdicts on the 21 defendants on Monday.

Angelopoulos offers apology over Kapodistrias controversy
In response to the social media firestorm in May that was caused by a post by the Greece 2021 committee that presented the first head of state of independent Greece Ioannis Kapodistrias as a dictator, its president, Gianna Angelopoulos, offered an apology on Wednesday for any offense caused.
The post in question had cited an excerpt from an article by a member of the committee.
Fresh donation made to bolster public health system in coronavirus fight
Theodoros and Gianna Angelopoulos became the latest Greeks to donate 1 million euros to the fight against the new coronavirus epidemic in Greece, the Health Ministry announced on Monday.
The donation was accepted by Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias and has been channeled into the Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Technology to help bolster its work.

Twelve new members join Greece 2021 bicentennial committee
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday approved the expansion of the Greece 2021 committee, which is responsible for designing and supervising a program of celebrations to mark the bicentennial anniversary of Greece's War of Independence against Ottoman rule.
'Greece 2021' committee presents its logo
The head of the "Greece 2021" committee on the bicentennial of the declaration of the Greek War of Independence (1821), Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki, presented on Friday the logo of the committee.
The logo shows a ribbon forming the number "2" flowing through the "1", standing for the -21 suffix of 1821-20121.
