Search for Tibet avalanche survivors ends, 28 dead
Search and rescue operations after a devastating avalanche that engulfed travellers on a Tibetan highway have ended, Chinese state media reported, with the death toll now at 28.
The snowslide occurred Tuesday evening at the exit of a mountain tunnel in southeastern Tibet, trapping a number of people in their vehicles.

Heavy snowfall blankets Turkey’s east in mid-April
Turkey's eastern provinces have been hit by heavy snowfalls in the middle of April, with the snow depth reaching some 20 centimeters in the center of Kars, a province bordering Armenia.
"People swim at the Aegean coasts, we are shoveling snow here in April," Güven Öztürk, a resident of Kars, told Demirören News Agency on April 13.

Istanbul to witness snowfall again this week
Temperatures will start dropping significantly across the country as of today, and Turkey's most populous province, Istanbul, will witness snowfall once again in early March, a prominent Turkish meteorologist has said.
"A wave of rainy weather will have an impact in the western parts of the country, starting from the late hours of Feb. 28," Orhan Şen announced on his Twitter account.

Villagers demand actions against heliskiing activities

Avalanches claim three lives, rescuers injured
Preddvor – Two avalanches were triggered in the area of Mt Storžič (2,132 metres) in the western part of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps mountain range on Saturday, burying four climbers. Three died at the scene and one sustained severe injuries, the Administration for Civil Protection and Disatser Relief says on its website. Two rescuers were also injured.

Another accident in the mountains. An avalanche buried and killed a skier in Pirin. The tragic incident happened around 11:15 today.
The victim is 19 years old. The freerider was with an older man who was an experienced mountaineer. During the descent in one of the gutters of Todorka an avalanche fell, which buried the boy.
