Choreographer’s passion for film revealed at Thessaloniki doc fest

There may be nothing connecting Dimitiris Papaionnou to cinema at first glance - it is not, after all, the art his name is associated with - yet the 26th edition of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival will be paying tribute to the celebrated Greek choreographer and has invited him to participate in the event, which begins on March 7.

Maguy Marin to perform in Turkey for first time

Maguy Marin, a prominent figure in contemporary dance who art lovers have been waiting for years to see, is coming to Turkey for the first time.

Marin, one of the pioneers of a new wave of dance in France, will be on stage tonight at Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall with his stage choreography and a masterpiece called May B.

Sasha Waltz & Guests | Athens | March 23 & 24

After "Korper," from her trilogy about the human body, acclaimed German choreographer Sasha Waltz returns with an exciting new choreography, "Kreatur," which premiered at Radialsystem V in Berlin last summer. Here, she has teamed up with two iconoclastic artists, fashion designer Iris van Herpen and lighting designer Urs Schoenbaum. The shows at the Athens Concert Hall start at 8 p.m.

Underwater dance performance at Cape Sounion

Choreographers Sophie Bulbuyan and Apostolia Papadamaki join a global dance team to create an underwater dance-visual performance titled "Drops of Breath". The 14 performers from France, Greece and Cyprus will present their underwater choreography at Cape Sounion beach, the sea region at the foot of the cliff where the Greek temple of Poseidon is located.
