Gov't looking to the cloud for greater efficiency
Government applications and information systems are being moved to virtual servers, the Government Cloud (G-Cloud), in a bid to modernize Greece's public administration.
The state has already moved 12 of its information systems to the G-Cloud and there are plans to transfer another 60 soon.

US government requests to Google for individuals' data reached a six-year high in the first half of 2017, the company says.
A report published last week said the country had sought details about 48,902 accounts - 24% more than over the last six months of 2016.
Apple reported a 62% jump in the number of user account requests from the US over the same period - 6,407 in total.

Most Turkish computers use pirate programs: Microsoft official
Nearly two-thirds of the computers in Turkey are running on pirated software, a senior Microsoft executive said March 21, adding that it put devices at greater risk of attack.
"Sixty-two percent of computer users in Turkey are using pirated software," Cavit Yantaç, the company's deputy general manager in Turkey, told state-run Anadolu Agency.
Turkey restores access to Google Drive after blocking cloud storage services
Turkey's internet watchdog restored access to Google's cloud storage service, Google Drive, on Oct. 9 after it was blocked on the grounds of "administrative measures" allegedly due to a series of leaks by the hacking group RedHack.
