Olympiakos returned to winning ways in Europe with a win over Bayern Munich on Friday, but Panathinaikos suffered a third loss in succession on Thursday, going down to Euroleague leader Real Madrid.

Linda Rottenberg, cofounder and CEO of Endeavor, a non-profit that focuses on boosting entrepreneurship, suffers from the quintessentially American bug of relentless optimism. It is easy to get carried away by her upbeat outlook, to forget the depressing resilience of the Greek crisis and to dare believe that anything is possible.  

Postbank, together with Endeavor's global network, will support ten Bulgarian companies to grow. The "Dare to Scale" campaign helps over 1,000 entrepreneurs in 30 countries.

New businesses opening up in Greece continue to be focused on catering and entertainment rather than the sectors of manufacturing or technology. According to a report by Endeavor Greece published in Kathimerini on February 2, after eight years of recession, the Greeks that can still invest are putting their money into new cafes, bars and souvlaki joints, while factories are closing.

The Greek economy remains in search of a production model that would generate added value and long-term, full-time employment and would not rely exclusively on domestic consumption, as most new enterprises are in the sectors of entertainment and food catering rather than productive fields such as manufacturing or technology.

On June 20, 2014, Ziya Boyac?giller passed away. I wanted to write about him, as he was not just an entrepreneur but a role model to many people. I believe that we Turkish people tend not to take time to remember those who contributed to our society in a positive manner.
