Authorities in Athens are investigating a potential data breach following a break-in at the Interior Ministry's election directorate.

The incident occurred between 1.40 p.m. and 2.10 p.m. on Friday, while the directorate head was absent from the office, which is located on downtown Evangelistrias Street.

Another Bulgarian national has been apprehended in the United Kingdom on allegations of espionage for Russia. The court in London has determined that 38-year-old Tihomir Ivanchev will remain in custody indefinitely, joining five other compatriots who have been detained for espionage-related offenses for over a year.

A specialized operation is currently being conducted in the building of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP), BNR reported.
