AGERPRES special correspondent Dana Piciu reports: The withdrawal of the UK from the European Union is an unprecedented process that will leave its mark over our future, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila stated on Thursday when presenting the priorities of the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council in the plenary session of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

The withdrawal process of the United Kingdom from the European Union represents a significant moment of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and Romania's action will be extremely important so that European citizens, including Romanians, will not suffer, Minister Delegate for European Affairs George Ciamba said in an interview for AGERPRES.

Romania's President is the one to go to the European Council meetings, while for new proposals a mandate is needed from the Legislature, Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu told Digi 24 private television broadcaster on Sunday evening.
