EU decides to get rid of daylight saving time

According to a statement, the proposed bill seeks to ensure that any changes are made in a coordinated manner between neighboring countries in order to ensure the proper functioning of the internal market and avoid fragmentation that would occur if some member states retain seasonal changes of time, while others abolished it.

As of Today Third Country Nationals with a Ban to Enter Schengen Area will be Blocked from Entering Bulgaria

Sofia. As of today, Bulgaria will refuse entry/stay in its territory to third-country nationals in respect of whom an alert for refusal of entry or stay has been issued in the Schengen Information System (SIS), said the Ministry of Interior press office.

Posting of Workers: Council Adopts the Directive

On 21 June 2018, the Council adopted the revision of the posting of workers directive.

The aim of the revised directive is to facilitate the transnational provision of services, whilst ensuring fair competition and respect for the rights of those workers who are employed in one member state and sent to work temporarily in another by their employer (posted workers).

Digital Single Gateway: Easier Access to Online Information and Procedures

Coreper today endorsed an agreement between the Bulgarian presidency and European Parliament representatives to set up a single digital gateway which will provide access to online information and procedures, assistance and problem-solving services to citizens and companies.

New Measures to Fight against illegal Competition Practices in the Internal Market

The EU's committee of permanent representatives (Coreper) today endorsed an agreement between the Council, represented by the Bulgarian presidency, and the European Parliament on new measures to bring the enforcement of competition rules in line with the digital age and to tackle illegal competition practices in the EU.
