Supreme Court prosecutor denies cover-up allegations in Tempe crash

Supreme Court Prosecutor Georgia Adelini on Wednesday rejected accusations that there is an ongoing effort to cover up presumptive misdealings by guilty parties in the official investigation into the deadly train crash at Tempe last year. 

"There is absolutely no judicial cover-up in the case of the Tempe accident," Adelini said at the 9th Economic Forum of Delphi. 

Train officials released on bail

Two officials from state-owned Hellenic Railways have been released after testifying before an examining magistrate but had to pay large sums for bail.

The two are among those being investigated by the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) over a contract for the upgrade of the railways' signaling system and remote control.

40 suspected hooligans to testify in second round of questioning

Twelve people were remanded into pretrial custody by an Athens prosecutor on Friday, as an investigating magistrate began questioning dozens of suspects who were arrested during Monday's deadly soccer-related violence.

Ten of the suspects are Croatian nationals, while the other two are a Greek, aged 27, and an Albanian national, aged 22.
