Railway passengers will soon be able to consult the new enriched guide compiled by rail service regulator RAS on their rights and obligations.

The President of the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Commerce of Athens, Mr. Ioannis Tsamichas and the CEO of TRAINOSE SA, Mr. Maurizio Capotorto signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, on June 16, 2022, in order for TRAINOSE to offer even richer experiences for its passengers.

Railway company TrainOSE has updated its electronic ticketing system to support social distancing on trains, officials said during a press briefing on safety measures to prevent Covid-19 infection during travel. 

The company operates suburban railways, known in Greece as Proastiakos, as well as intercity passenger services.

The port of Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest, is evolving into a key gateway for the entire Balkan peninsula's supply chain, while constantly becoming a more important part of China's maritime trade plans.

Data from Greece's railway regulator, RAS, show that besides the three companies already providing railway services, there are four others preparing to enter the market.
