Shock over drownings of three young holidaymakers
Tragedy struck the islands of Crete and Rhodes on Wednesday afternoon after an 8-year-old girl from Israel and two French sisters aged 16 and 19 drowned in separate incidents.
The Israeli girl drowned in the swimming pool of the hotel she was staying at with her family at the resort of Hersonissos on Crete.

Two teenage sisters drown in Rhodes hotel pool
Authorities on the southeastern Aegean island of Rhodes are investigating the death of two sisters in a hotel swimming pool the previous evening.
The two girls have been identified as French tourists who were holidaying on the island with their families. They were aged 16 and 19 years old.

Boy, 12, chokes to death on sausage in Thessaloniki
A 12-year-old boy died in Thessaloniki early on Monday after choking to death on a sausage.
According to Skai, the boy had woken up in the middle of the night for a snack and woke his mother when he started choking.
The boy's parents called an ambulance which transferred the 12-year-old to the nearest hospital.
Climber dies on Mount Olympus
Rescue workers recovered the body of a man aged around 50 on the slopes of Mount Olympus on Saturday.
The death of the man, who had been climbing the mountain with members of a mountaineering group from Halkidiki, appears to have been related to an existing condition though a coroner was to determine the precise cause of death.

Lifeguard arrested after girl drowns in hotel pool on Rhodes
A seven-year-old girl has died after being found unconscious in a hotel swimming pool on Rhodes.
She was holidaying on the island with the family.
The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon in the pool of a large hotel in the south of the island.
The girl was rushed to hospital by ambulance, where despite the efforts of medical staff she died a few hours later.
