FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship

Turkey beat Bulgaria 3-0 in Group B in the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Japan on Tuesday.

Turkey is competing in Group B with China, Italy, Bulgaria, Canada, and Cuba. Turkey defeated Bulgaria 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-12) and had a second victory in the group matches.

The opening matches of the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, jointly hosted by Italy and Bulgaria, recorded sell-out crowds on the opening night on Sunday, as fans packed the two arenas to watch some of the world's best volleyball teams in action.

Bulgaria has allocated USD 5 M to support the co-hosting of the Men's Volleyball World Championship in 2018, the government said on Monday.

Four Bulgarian cities will host matches from the 2018 men's volleyball World Championship, which will be co-hosted by Bulgaria and Italy.

Twelve teams will play their matches in Bulgaria, with the host cities being Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Ruse.

Bulgaria and Italy were selected as co-hosts by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) last week.

Bulgaria will allocate EUR 5 M for co-hosting the 2018 Men's World Volleyball Championship together with Italy.

Bulgarian Sports Minister Krasen Kralev explained that any additional expenses would have to be met by the Bulgarian volleyball federation.

The men's volleyball teams of Bulgaria and France are to face each other in the semifinals of the Volleyball European Championship 2015.

Argentina scored a smooth victory over Bulgaria in their second Pool C match of the FIVB Volleyball World League 2015 late on Sunday.

Bulgaria lost 0:3 (19:25, 19:25, 16:25) during the match at the Polideportivo Delmi arena in Salta, Argentina.

A day earlier, the Bulgarian team won a first match with Argentina 3:2.
