Bulgarians consume the Least Amount of Fish in the EU
Bulgarians consume nearly 7 kg of fish per year, and this is the lowest amount compared to other European countries. This became clear during a discussion organized by the Association "For Affordable and Quality Food" and the Association of Fishery Products Producers.
It is expected that the demand and quality of fish products in Bulgaria will grow in the future.
1.4 mln preschool students to benefit from free meals
As of Feb. 6, when the semester break ends, 1.4 million preschool students will benefit from free meals, and then this number will gradually increase to 5 million.
New Rules in the EU allow the Consumption of Crickets and Mealworm Larvae
Domestic crickets and mealworm larvae will be allowed as food in the European Union under new regulations, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
Domestic crickets can be eaten frozen, dried or powdered from Tuesday, and the use of mealworm larvae in food will be allowed from Thursday.
Similar rules already exist for migratory locusts and yellow mealworms.

Global food prices fell in December for the ninth month in a row, but nevertheless rose 14 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year to record levels, the World Food Organization (FAO) reported to the United Nations, cited by "Reuters".
