The quake commenced at 02:09 local time, impacting a mountainous expanse in Xinjiang, with the seismic waves felt across the border in Kyrgyzstan.
4.9 Magnitude Earthquake in China
A 4.9 magnitude earthquake shook Hubei's China province, China's Seismological Center reports.
The quake was registered in Xiaogang City at 18:36 local time. The epicentre of the earthquake is at a depth of 10 kilometers.
There is currently no information on destruction and injuries.
