The Foreign Affairs Ministry underscores the significant efforts Romania has made over the recent years to assume its past and condemn the denial of the Holocaust and anti-Semitism, the ministry said in a release to AGERPRES on Thursday, on the occasion of the National Holocaust Remembrance Day in Romania.

President Traian Basescu says in a message on Thursday on the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Romania that the responsibility to condemn the Holocaust and those attached to a xenophobic mentality falls on each Romanian.

On the National Holocaust Remembrance Day, Romania pays homage to the memory of the innocent lives taken during that dark period, Prime Minister Victor Ponta wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday.

The last three articles of the anti-racism bill were passed through Parliament on Tuesday in a roll call vote.
