The students of the Music School of Ilion in western Athens held a musical protest on Friday outside the Agioi Anargyroi police station in northern Athens where Kyriaki Griva, 28, was murdered by her former partner on Monday night.

An 18-year-old man confessed on Sunday to the assault against a 31-year-old police officer that occurred on Thursday night during a volleyball match between local rivals Olympiakos and Panathinaikos in Rentis, Piraeus.

The police officer is currently in critical condition at the General State Hospital of Nikaia.

The Athens residential market witnessed price hikes of more than 30% year-on-year during the second quarter of 2023, an example of the excesses typically recorded during periods of upward trend in values.

The violent mugging of a bus driver in Ilion, western Attica, on Monday night, has drawn attention to the increasingly risky conditions faced by those working routes in the area. 

The Church of Ilion, Acharnon and Petroupoli has denied reports that bogus priests conducted dozens of fake weddings on its premises, saying that the alleged ceremonies occurred before the church's foundation in 2010.
