PM meets with another potential bidder for steel plant

BELGRADE -- PM Aleksandar Vučić has met in Belgrade with representatives of Russia’s steel producer Krasny Oktyabr to discuss possible privatization of Železara Smederevo.

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met in Belgrade Wednesday with representatives of Russia’s special steel producer Krasny Oktyabr to discuss possible privatization of the Zelezara Smederevo steelworks.

Both sides agreed to work together to find possible models of cooperation, the government's media relations office said in a release.

Esmark "potential partner" for steel plant

BELGRADE -- Aleksandar Vučić says that the government "has shown interest in having Železara Smederevo steelworks privatized."

Esmark is one of "credible potential partners" with which to decide a final status of Železara in the coming period, the prime minister was quoted as saying on Monday.
