Two arrested for vandalizing minister’s office

Two men were arrested for vandalizing the Athens office of Alternate Foreign Affairs Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis on Friday.

The suspects were among a group of self-styled anarchists who spray-painted slogans on the walls and scattered fliers in what appeared to be a protest at the government's migration policy.

Authorities examining terror-related online posts

The Greek Police (ELAS) are examining the veracity of three texts posted online over the last two weeks and signed by a group calling itself the "Revolutionary Anarchist Armed Strugglers."
The first post on September 28 claimed responsibility for an armed attack on riot police in the central district of Exarchia. Police have not confirmed the attack.

Judicial officials have given the go-ahead for the eviction of anarchists from the Vox cafe in the capital's downtown Exarchia district, the unofficial headquarters of the anarchist group Rouvikonas, known for their attacks of vandalism against government, business and foreign diplomatic targets, Kathimerini has learned. 

2 arrested over paint attack at employers' HQ

Two persons have been placed under arrest and another detained for questioning after an anarchist group vandalized the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises headquarters earlier Sunday.

Members of the self-described "anarchist collective" Rouvikonas threw paint at the building in central Athens and fled. They claimed the attack at a website shortly after.

Member of Rouvikonas faces felony charge for vandalism of Parliament

The sole member of Rouvikonas who was arrested after the anarchist group vandalised the Parliament's facade yesterday faces felony charges, as do the others of the group of approximately 30 who comfortably fled the scene and are at large.

The 36-year-old has been charged with causing damage to an historic monument.

The PM's office and opposition parties condemned the attack.

Police fire teargas in rally in support of jailed terrorist

Greek police clashed with protesters in central Athens on Tuesday evening during a march in support of a far-left jailed terrorist.
Riot police fired teargas against protesters who were near central Stadiou Street. Streets around Syntagma square were closed off to traffic due to the march.
